Bridge Communities is a grassroots, non-profit organization
committed to utilizing the time, talent and resources of
individuals and groups interested in helping homeless families
by providing housing and a program focused on the achievement

Garden Walk – June 2, 2007: we provided parking
and lunch for the Garden Walk. We intend to do this again

Our Mission is to minister with love and compassion among
and with the most vulnerable of our community - particularly
those who suffer from addiction - through crisis intervention,
addiction recovery, community assistance and life skills

Annual Christmas Basket program: adopt a family and provide
gifts and groceries. In 2007: we adopted 65 families and
provided clothing for Cathedral Shelter thrift shop. |

Heads the Foundation for Reconciliation in the Middle
East. The FRME is an organization being largely led by Canon
Andrew White, who has worked in the Middle-East region since
before the Gulf War. The organization is the only evangelical
body in the world, which is running both the religious track
of the Middle-East Peace Process, as well as working on
the complex search for peace in Iraq. In addition to this,
the organization runs the Israeli Palestinian Institute
of Peace, and is at the forefront of peace making in Iraq
with the Iraqi Institute of Peace. |
Andrew is also Vicar of Baghdad and can use funds to support
local children’s healthcare needs, etc. A monetary
contribution was provided in 2007. |

Our companion Diocese; we are building on our relationship
with the parish of San Marco in Nigromante. |
Trips to Nigromante in 2006 and 2007. A trip is planned
for 2008. Parish dinners each year raise funds and highlight
SE Mexico and the events of our mission trip. M&O Committee
obtains grants to help fund the trips. |

The parish is asked to provide groceries at Thanksgiving
and also during the month of April, in addition to an ongoing
effort. Several parishioners volunteer each month at the
Pantry. |

We make a financial contribution, as this is a service
we send people to when they come to the office looking for
help with food, transportation, etc. We make an annual monetary
contribution from the M&O reserve fund. Several parishioners
volunteer there during the week. |

DuPage Habitat for Humanity® is a locally run affiliate
of Habitat for Humanity International®. DuPage Habitat
for Humanity® serves DuPage County, Illinois and works
in partnership with people in need to build modest and affordable
housing. As of early 2008, thirty-four homes have been completed.

DuPage P.A.D.S. (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) is
committed to end and prevent homelessness in DuPage County.
Temporary shelter, transitional and permanent housing for
people without homes; design, implement and manage programs
and services for men, women and children who are homeless;
encourage responsibility and offer opportunities for self
sufficiency; advocate against barriers that cause homelessness;
share knowledge with the community. www.dupagepads.org |
Youth group makes lunches once a month. Other volunteer
opportunities arise from time to time (took a turn in January
‘07 to launder the 70 blankets). We made a substantial
monetary gift from out pumpkin sale in the fall of 2007
(which also benefitted the Navajo Nation in New Mexico.). |

In DuPage County, PRC serves as the first embrace for
the refugee, or for those who find themselves in a difficult
life situation, meeting family needs on a very low income.

St. Nicholas luncheon for the parish in 2007 included
a request to bring gifts for the PRC. We made a monetary
gift in 2007 from the M&O reserve fund. Martha Sexauer
chaired a benefit holiday luncheon at Danada House, parishioners
contributed baked goods, and substantial finds were raised
for PRC. |

St. Gregory choir sang twice at St. Mark's in 2007 and
received monetary gifts. Plans for 2008 include a visit
in January and a drive to raise funds for special teaching

Funds provide grants for ministries locally, nationally
and internationally as an outreach of the Episcopal Church.
100 % of the Blue Box offering is granted. |
During Lent we had“blue boxes” for people
to take home to make daily thank offerings, and we plan
to repeat this in 2008. |
