MISS KRISTINE  Director,  Studio Arts

Miss Kristine has been involved in Early Childhood for 20 years in both teaching and administration roles and is always striving to improve in her methods for understanding and connecting with young children. The Reggio inspired program here at St. Mark’s supports her passion for truly seeing children and allows her the opportunity to help children express their wonders, think deeply and find the joy in the world around them.   She has a BA in English from the University of Maryland as well as an Early Childhood Education Certification and coursework in Early Childhood Administration.


MISS LESLIE   3 Day AM,  3 Day PM

One of Miss Leslie’s favorite things about SMP is that she is always learning – whether it be from a colleague, one of the clergy, or the children – it’s a continuous journey of wonder! Exploring the Reggio approach has and continues to be an amazing experience for her as this methodology feels very natural to her as a teacher. Prior to coming to St. Mark’s, Miss Leslie spent five years teaching preschool at Wide Horizons in Wheaton. She has a B.A. degree in Psychology and Sociology from Cornell College and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University. She is also a certified massage therapist, which is her other passion.


MISS JEN   4 Day AM,  4 Day PM

Miss Jen feels so fortunate to be part of St. Mark’s Preschool. After receiving her teaching degree from Iowa State University, she participated in a nationally recognized program in Kansas City that focused on teaching in the inner city. She then moved back to Naperville, where she taught in District 203.   While teaching, she earned a Masters of Arts in Curriculum at National Louis University. After a break to raise her children, Miss Jen returned to teaching, this time in the early childhood setting teaching at Wide Horizons in Wheaton before joining the SMP staff. She believes in our preschool mission and the Reggio Emilia philosophy and knows that St. Mark’s is where she should be teaching. She is a positive and devoted teacher who focuses on the whole child. She loves fostering children’s curiosity and learning through play.



Miss Stephanie has a degree in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Early Childhood Education from Southwest Minnesota State University, as well as training in and experience with the Handwriting without Tears curriculum. She has experience in building a Reggio Emilia inspired program and feel fortunate to continue with the Reggio philosophy here at St. Mark’s Preschool. Miss Stephanie has experience as a lead teacher as well as an Assistant Director in a preschool setting. She is excited to bring her passion to instill a love for learning to our program and has a true joy for supporting and connecting to children and their families. Miss Stephanie wants her students to love being at school and with her!


MISS LORI    AM Kindergarten Enrichment, PM Kindergarten Enrichment

Miss Lori received her B.A. in Liberal Arts from College of St. Mary’s. She completed her Early Childhood Education Certification in December of 2015. She has been a substitute, Munch and Learn Teacher and KE Teacher throughout her career with St. Mark’s Preschool. She has spent many years in Glen Ellyn as a volunteer at St. Petronille, Benet Academy and Glenbard West. Miss Lori has a kind, gentle manner with the children and enjoys her conversations with them and experiencing their vivid imaginations.


MISS CAREY   Munch N Learn

Miss Carey has lived in Glen Ellyn the past 17 years. She taught kindergarten and Jr. High before having her 3 children (Jack, Aiden, and Allie). When her youngest was in school full-time, she went back to her teaching days as a substitute teacher for the Glen Ellyn Park District. Several years ago she became the Much-n-Learn teacher at St. Mark’s. She is very excite to begin another year at SMP. She truly loves talking with the kids as they have lunch, and she enjoys teaching them through exciting crafts, games and science experiments.



Miss Marsha is a member of St. Mark¹s and has lived in Glen Ellyn for over 30 years. She studied music at DePauw University and served for many years as a church organist. In addition to organ, she plays piano. Miss Marsha enjoys working with the St. Mark¹s Preschool children immensely and deeply believes that music is an essential part of their educational experience. In addition to singing, music instruction includes thematic exploration of music concepts such as beat, tempo, and melodic contour.
Miss Marsha and her husband, Steve, live in Glen Ellyn and are parents of two grown children.



Miss Cynthia has worked with children for over 20 years. She is a former preschool teacher & elementary substitute teacher for District 308. She is also a USPTR certified tennis pro & teaches tennis to kids of all ages. Her interest in yoga lead her to receive several certifications to teach yoga. She combines her love for teaching and yoga to children and adults. Yoga brings Miss Cynthia peace, calm, gratitude & compassion which she then shares with everyone around her.
