The Truth of Parenting

(7 to 9 pm, October 26, 2011)

Jennifer Grant had a strong marriage and three happy, healthy children. She had a fulfilling life as a full-time mother and part-time newspaper columnist and a home in an idyllic Chicago suburb. To a casual onlooker, her family would seem complete. But Grant and her husband David knew better. Always maintaining open hearts toward adoption, they felt God’s leading and knew that the family still lacked one member. In her new book Love You More: The Divine Surprise of Adopting My Daughter, Grant details the exciting and at times gut-wrenching, search for Mia – the daughter God longed for her to have. With humor, personal candor, and insight, Love You More walks the reader through the Grant family’s decision to adopt, the strenuous search for their daughter, and adjusting to life as a multicultural family. In Love You More, Grant addresses difficult topics including spiritual doubt, miscarriage, and the ethics of adoption. Join us for a discussion led by Jennifer about her new book and the truth of parenting!  This event is open to the community – bring a friend!
