Nurturers of the Very Active (NOVA)

NOVA is a Thursday morning gathering of parents with small children at home (infants through school-age). Our meetings alternate weekly between a discussion in the library while nursery care is provided for the kids and a playtime for parents and kids in Mahon Hall, with occasional offsite outings.

As we parent very young children, our days can be long but the time is fleeting.   During this busy, exhilarating time, we find strength in connecting with others by:

  • helping each other learn to be the best parents we can be as we discuss topics in parenting, child development, books, blogs, and sharing expertise
  • taking care of ourselves by taking a break to recharge as we explore creative activities for kids, home and self
  • allowing our kids to get to know each other and become familiar with their church community through informal playtime and fun outings

We understand your schedule may be constrained by preschool/kindergarten drop off times, part time work, nap times, and the unexpected…please feel welcome to attend whenever you can.  Babies and children who are still acclimating to the nursery are welcome to stay with their parents as needed.  Our meetings are Thursdays 9:30 to 11:15 am. During the winter months (01/15 through 03/15) NOVA goes on hiatus while Adult Formation offers Yoga and other activities occur Thursday mornings. Childcare will be provided.
