2024 Guide to Holy Week & Easter Services

Palm Sunday, March 24

Wave palm fronds and sing “hosannas” in an outdoor procession, recalling the joyous entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Processions begin in the east parking lot for all services (9:00 am, 10:30 am and 1:00 pm)

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 12:00 pm Eucharist in the Chapel

Maundy Thursday, March 28

The service begins in Mahon Hall with the Agape Dinner at 6:00 pm serving dried fruit, nuts, olives, hummus, bread, wine and juice. The first part includes hymns, a sermon and prayers. After the exchange of peace, worship continues in the church nave with Holy Communion and the stripping of the altar as we remember how Jesus was betrayed and deserted by his disciples.

Good Friday, March 29

At 10:30 am, children and parents are invited to make a journey through Holy Week. At 1:00 pm, a service of meditation and music is offered in the sanctuary. At 7:30 pm Jesus’ trial and crucifixion are remembered through a reading of the passion narrative, and veneration of the cross. Communion is offered.

Easter Vigil, March 30

We light the new fire in front of the church at 7:30 pm and enter the darkness of the nave. Scripture readings and hymns set the stage for baptisms, Easter alleluias and the first Eucharist of Easter.

Easter Sunday, March 31

Jesus Christ is Risen! – Worship at 9:00 am, 11:15 am or 1:00 pm. Easter Egg Hunts after each service. Children’s Worship in Mahon Hall with Miss Gina at 9:00 am, 11:15 am, and 1:00 pm.
