Acolyte Training
July 12, 2025 9:30 AM
- 10:30 AM

New and returning acolytes are invited to attend a refresher and training session on Saturday, July 12 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. in the church. Even if you have been serving as an acolyte for a while, it’s good to have a refresher. An additional refresher/training will be held in late summer. An additional refresher/training will be held Wednesday, August 20 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
How do Acolytes serve? Acolytes carry the cross and torches in and out of the church and lead the Gospel Procession. They also assist the clergy preparing for the Eucharist. They ring the sanctus bells and wear white albs. Acolytes need to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the service in order to “get vested (i.e. Put on the alb and tie the cincture.). Acolyting is open to anyone from 3rd grade through adulthood. If you enjoy leading and serving, and want to be part of the entire service, acolyting is a great choice.
